Jewish Culture in Copenhagen presents. The Israeli drama Matchmaker (2010) is directed by Avi Nesher and takes place in Haifa in the summer of 1968 shortly after the Six Day War. We follow teenager Arik, who works for the mysterious matchmaker Yankele. Yankele, who has survived the Holocaust, wants to spread love, and his office is also located in a cinema run by 7 Romanian dwarfs who only show love movie. The summer also offers Erik's stormy love affair with Tamara.
The film has won many awards in Israel and has participated in numerous festivals.
